Record Mobile Gameplay With Samsung Game Recorder+ App

Most people brag about their gaming achievements with a screenshot and a Twitter update. But Samsung is offering a new way for Android users to share their accomplishments.

Game Recorder+ lets gamers record and share high scores and other personal achievements.

The app will overlay a floating UI atop any game available in Google Play or the Galaxy App store. It works on the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Galaxy S5, Note 4, S4, Note 3, and Note 2 devices provided they have Android 4.1+, though not in Europe or South Korea. Only Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge users, however, can record noise-free gaming audio, which disables the microphone.

The app supports commentary captured via the phone's front-facing camera. But if you're not comfortable with your unpolished mug showing up on screen, upload a profile photo to disable the cam while recording.

To get started, open the Game Recorder+ app, tap the red record button at the bottom of the home screen, and start playing your favorite games. About to make a sweet move? Press the record button to start capturing the action, and click it again to stop.

According to the app description, meanwhile, "Quick Record" is enabled by default in your app's settings, meaning a record button will appear within all games supported by Game Recorder+. It can be turned off in the Settings menu.

Users also have the option to turn on Game Boost, which maximizes memory usage for the best playing and recording experience.

Once documented, upload the video directly to YouTube, or share it with friends via other social media services and texting options.

Keep in mind, however, that you cannot record games for which the feature has been disabled by the developer, or apps that are not games.

Recording gameplay, meanwhile, has become quite popular on consoles, with Amazon placing a billion-dollar bet on Twitch, one of the biggest gameplay streaming services out there. The launch of Windows 10 next month will also enable game streaming via Xbox.
