Microsoft: Your Kid Will Love Windows 10
Microsoft believes the children are our future. Teach them well and let them...use Windows 10?
Redmond kicked off the marketing blitz for its new operating system today in advance of the July 29 launch of Windows 10. The first TV spot features children in their home countries of Morocco, Thailand, Iceland, England, and the U.S., all of whom will never know a world without the advances available in Windows 10.
"Supporting our mission of empowering every person and organization to achieve more, the ads show how technology should be more natural, human and intuitive, and adapt to people's needs," the Windows team wrote in a blog post. "The key notion—Windows 10 delivers a more human way to do."
The cute, innocent faces hamming it up for the camera will one day be the faces behind smartphone cameras and virtual reality headsets. They will grow up in a world very different from their parents, grandparents, and ancestors, the ad says.
"Imagine: These kids won't have to remember passwords or obsess about security. For them, every screen is meant to be touched," the video voiceover says. "And Web pages are means to be scribbled on and shared. They'll expect their devices to listen to them, talk, sing, tell a funny joke.
"And as they grow and get better at things, their technology will, too," it continues. "They'll do things their parents never even dreamed of. Because these kids will grow up with Windows 10."
Last week, Redmond announced plans to host "global fan celebrations" later this month for Windows Insiders in 13 cities, and promised a $10 million cash investment in 10 global and 100 local nonprofits in celebration of the Windows 10 launch.
The tech giant is also encouraging its own employees, and folks all over Earth, to "upgrade their world" by volunteering time and energy for a good cause.
