The City of London Corporation is one of the most dynamic and diverse organisations in the UK and looks after the City on behalf of all who live, work and visit. As Head of IT, you will define and implement the technology strategy and road-map for both the Corporation and the City of London Police. Through out standing leadership, contract management and programme management you will position IT as a strategic enabler of ongoing transformation in both organisations.
About the roleYou will be responsible alongside the Chief Information Officer for the leadership and operation of the IS Division for the City of London Corporation and the City of London Police. This will require you to:
Provide leadership and direction for staff across the division, working to ensure the achievement of the plans set out in the IS strategy
Lead strategic technology planning to meet business needs and achieve organisational change
Act as the lead authority on Information Management, Information Security and IS Service Delivery
Manage relationships with third party suppliers, applying the principles of strategic vendor management and ITIL Service Provision
Manage the relationship between outsourced and retained IT functions, working in partnership with the key suppliers to seek inefficiencies and service improvements.
Commercially manage contracts and projects up to a total value in excess of £42 million
Manage the financial and performance monitoring and reporting of both internal and external services
Prepare tenders and lead procurement for complex outsourced services Success in this role will see you develop a high performing IT service across both the Corporation and the Police, one that works successfully in partnership with suppliers to deliver an effective, value for money IT environment and supports and enables organisational change.
About YouTo succeed in this role you will be an experienced IT leader with a track record in strategy development, delivering outstanding services, right first time projects and organisational change in complex organisations. You will bring strong experience of procurement, contract and supplier performance management as well as expertise in IT service delivery, within an ITIL framework. You should have a sound understanding of the implications of providing technology services within public sector or policing.
